Help us grow our membership to 300 by Sunday, June 11.

Why:

Opposition to NYRI is gaining ground: The Department of Energy has just denied NYRI's application for early National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (NIETC) designation. 1  This means NYRI's attempt to get around the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) review process has failed. The route could still be designated a NIETC later, but it buys us time to build a strong case against it.

Our focus now turns to getting the PSC to kill the project. To do this, we need "formal interveners" to present their case to the PSC. The deadline for becoming a formal intervener is fast approaching, and the process is slightly involved. But we're making it simpler with some online tools (coming next). Help us grow our membership today so we can send these tools out to as many people as possible before the deadline.

How:

The old-fashioned way: Walk to your neighbor on the right and your neighbor on the left. Tell them about what's happening. Give them the link to our site: http://stopnyri.com, and encourage them to sign up today.

The miracle-of-the-Internet way: Click here, and we'll send an email to 3 of your friends on your behalf.

We've won the first battle! Let's grow together and win the next one!

Fight the power,
