Tell Governor Pataki to pass Bill S.8349A, sponsored by State Senator John Bonacic.
Why:
Good news: Our voices were heard by the New York State Senate and Assembly. Bill S.8349A passed 45-15 in the Senate, and Companion Bill 11977-A passed 99 to 12 in the Assembly. The bills disallow transportation companies (NYRI is registered as a transportation company 1 ) from using eminent domain in New York State.
Bill S.8349A (the bills were combined) will hit Pataki's desk this week. He has 10 to 12 days to sign it into law. We need to put pressure on him TODAY to do this.
How:
Fax, call or email Pataki's office today, say you are a registered voter and that in light of the overwhelming public and legislative support for Bill S.8349A, sponsored by State Senator John Bonacic (R/I/C - Mt.
Hope), you fully expect him to sign it into law. Faxes have the greatest impact, followed by calls, then emails.
